An older word for the singing and dancing ensemble of a musical.
"Chorus" and "ensemble" mean nearly the same thing in musical theater: the performers who sing and dance together in group numbers. In ancient Greek drama the chorus was a group that commented on the action, and some modern plays borrow that idea. You will also see the word in the title of A Chorus Line, a musical about dancers auditioning for exactly these jobs.
