At a community theater, auditions are usually open to everyone: you sign up, perhaps prepare a short song or read a scene from the script, and the director decides who to cast, sometimes after callbacks for a closer look. Many people audition for the first time as adults. If you are nervous, remember the director is hoping you will be good; they need a cast.
